The Start

I thought, what better way to dip my toe in the water.

This was a 2 day walk from Edale to Standedge, staying at a B&B mid point between them.
The B&B proprietor, a Mr. Crook, ferried us to Edale on the morning of the first day, and back from Standedge at the end of the second. We did this at the end of September 2014.


This small leg of the Pennine Way takes in the High Peak including Kinder Scout and BleakLow Hill, skirting the edge of the infamous Saddleworth Moor.


Weather initially was sunny as you can see:






It also includes the Kinder Downfall, which is famous for water going up the waterfall instead of down.
